Because I recently discovered that not only is my daughter severely allergic to certain nuts but is also allergic to dairy I have been trying my hand at all sorts of different free-from recipes. Some have been highly successful such as soya scotch pancakes which, I think, are nicer than normal ones, whilst some have been distinctly average.
However, on holiday recently in France I met up with my wonderful French friend Nanou who gave me this recipe for Coconut Treat Balls.
Provided you like coconut it is delicious and ridiculously simple to make so I thought I would share it on my blog.
250g dessicated coconut
180g caster sugar
Heat the oven to 180c. Put everything in a bowl and mix together. Form into small, bite-size balls and place on lightly oiled baking tray.Cook for about 15 minutes or until the balls are golden brown.
Great straight from the oven or when cooled down.
Simple but delicious.
