What flavours do you do?

We currently offer around 20 different flavours on our menu and are always adding to the range.

Can I have more than one flavour?

You certainly can! If you are having a tiered cake it is possible to have a different flavour for each tier. Certain sculpted cakes can also have two or more flavours included. Please email us for details.

What if there is a flavour I really want but it isn’t listed?

We will work with you to create the flavour that you want. Please be aware there will be an extra charge for this service.

How much do your cakes cost?

Our custom cakes vary in price depending on the size, cake flavour and complexity of design. There is no one set price for a cake as they are all individually designed. Every single cake is custom made for that particular client.

As a very rough guide our celebration cakes start from £75 and a three tier wedding cake starts from £380 but equally can rise to £2000 depending on the work required. All our cakes are hand made and completely bespoke, which takes a lot of time and effort! Many of them are intricate and very labour intensive and can sometimes take 20 hours or more to complete.

If you have a budget in mind we will do our best to work within it so please let us know early on what your price range is.

How long will you hold the date for me?

We will hold the date open for two weeks from the date or your quotation after which we will release it. If you haven’t confirmed and paid your deposit we can’t guarantee it will still be available, especially in the busy summer months.

Do you use marzipan?

As a rule we don’t use marzipan, except in our fruit cakes, unless specifically requested by the client. Our cakes are covered in fondant, ganache or buttercream or a combination thereof.

Do you cater for special diets?

We can bake gluten, wheat and dairy free versions of some of our cakes. Most of our cakes are nut free and we are happy to advise you of the ones which aren’t. Whilst we are fully aware and very careful about cross contamination all of our cakes are baked in a kitchen where nuts are present so sadly, we can’t guarantee them entirely nut free.

Are you registered with the local authority?

We are fully compliant with the local environmental health office and currently carry a 5 star rating. All our staff have undertaken food safety handling training which is updated regularly. We are also fully insured.

Do you deliver?

Yes we do deliver. We advise most wedding clients to opt for delivery – not only is it one less thing for you to worry about on the day but we are experienced in handling cakes and ensuring they arrive in one piece!

Hand delivery within Brighton and Hove is free. Delivery and set up further afield is charged at £1 per mile round trip.

Celebration cakes are for collection only unless other arrangements have been made in which case a delivery charge will apply.

We can deliver all over the country either personally or using a dedicated courier service. Email us for a quote and details.

Do you deliver overseas?

We have arranged for cakes to go abroad in the past. It depends on location and the type of cake being transported. Email us for with you request and we will do our best to help.

Do you hire stands?

We don’t currently hire out stands. However, if you have a look on Etsy and Notonthehighstreet you will find some really lovely stands to buy.

Can we have fresh instead of sugar flowers?

You can definitely have fresh flowers and we will liaise directly with your florist to dress the cake. However, please be aware that some flowers are poisonous and as such may not be able to be used on your cake.

How much notice do you need?

We kindly ask for a minimum of three months’ notice for wedding cakes and two weeks’ notice for celebration cakes. We can sometimes accommodate shorter periods of time, please ask us for our availability though naturally we get booked up during the summer wedding season quite early on.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your 50% deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. If you have paid for your cake in full and you cancel more than two weeks before your event date you will be due a refund of the balance, less any special work already undertaken. If you cancel within two weeks of the event date then no refund will be due and the balance will still be payable.

Cake Collection

Your cake will be available for collection at a previously agreed time and date from our premises at Unit 20 Hove Enterprise Centre, Basin Road North, Hove, BN41 1UY. The cake will be boxed and ready for transport, along with assembly instructions and information on any edible parts that need to be removed prior to serving.

Please note your cake will not be released to you until payment has been received in full.

Classes and private tuition

We currently don’t offer any scheduled classes though this will change in Autumn 2018. However private tuition with Fay is available in our kitchen at a cost of £240 for 9-5pm and can involve baking, decorating, airbrushing, modelling or a combination of all.

We can provide tailored days for corporate events or team building days. Please email us with your requirements and we will provide you with details and a quote.

Do you offer hen and children’s parties?

We don’t currently cater for children’s parties but if you do have a particular idea or you really really just want us to do one then please get in touch to see how we can help you.

Do you offer consultations?

We do offer a free, no obligation consultation service for wedding cakes, or celebration and corporate cakes over £250, where you can try up to five flavours and browse our portfolio. We kindly ask that you have your venue and wedding date booked prior to consultation. Email us for availability and to book.

How do I place an order?

Do you use non-edible supports in your cakes?

We do use non-edible supports such as dowels, cocktail sticks and skewers to support cake parts and figurines. We try to keep the amount used to an absolute minimum. However, some cakes and figurines do require support. You will be advised at collection/set up which parts should be removed prior to serving. If you have any concerns over inedible parts in your cake, please contact us as soon as possible so we can find suitable alternatives.

How do you portion your cakes?

We work out our portions on a grid-like pattern of 2” x 1” x depth of cake slices.

Can you colour-match to our logo/wedding colours?

We will do our very best to recreate the colours requested as closely as possible but we cannot guarantee an exact match. This is because some non-edible colours are just not completely achievable in edible form and shades can vary as icing dries.


We reserve the right to take photos of our cakes and to use those photos for marketing and publicity purposes without compensation to you. We will from time to time take photos of our cakes in progress. If you would like copies of your cake from start to finish then please let us know.
